LISA-MARIE PRESLEY DIES
The only child of the king of rock ‘n roll, Elvis Presley has died.
The 54-year-old Lisa-Marie Presley reportedly died of cardiac arrest at her home on Thursday.
She will be buried next to her dad and late son, Benjamin at the family’s estate, Graceland. Presley inherited the estate in Tennessee when she turned 25. Second, only to the White House, the former home of Elvis is the most visited home in the United States.
The BBC reports that only days before her death, she had visited Graceland to celebrate what would have been Elvis’ 88th birthday on 8 January.
One of her final posts on social media featured a link to an essay she wrote for People Magazine. In the essay, she shared her struggle with grief after her son Benjamin’s death. He committed suicide in August 2020 at the age of 27.
“I’ve dealt with death, grief and loss since the age of nine years old. I’ve had more than anyone’s fair share of it in my lifetime and somehow, I’ve made it this far. Death is part of life whether we like it or not – and so is grieving.”
Presley is survived by three daughters. Riley Keough is an actress, and twins Finley and Harper Lockwood are 14 years old.
She is also survived by her mother Priscilla who was married to Elvis for six years.
