QUINCY JONES REMEMBERED
Musician and producer Quincy Jones has died. He was 91.
Since his death, several high-profile names have paid their respects to the American.
Stevie Wonder’s appreciation article was published in music magazine Rolling Stone. Wonder said the musician “should be remembered as one of God’s greatest gifts to the world”.
Even Beatles legend Sit Paul McCartney said Wonder was “supremely talented” and remembered how he “always had a twinkle in his eye and had a very positive, loving spirit which infected everyone who knew him”.
“His long career stretches back to the early days when he was a trumpet player, then a band leader, then a producer of many great records,” Sir Paul wrote.
“But it is as a friend I would like to remember him. We always had fun in his presence and his legend will continue through the years, but it is those private moments we were lucky enough to have with the great man that I will always remember fondly.”
TV and media mogul Oprah Winfrey said Jones “changed (my life) forever for the better” after she met him. Winfrey described him as “love lived out loud in human form”.
