COLIN FARRELL FINISHES DUBLIN MARATHON WHILE PUSHING DISABLED FRIEND

Hollywood actor Colin Farrell managed to finish the gruelling Dublin Marathon over the weekend.

Not only did he finish it within 4 hours and 6 minutes, but he also completed the final 4 kilometres of the 42-kilometre route while pushing his friend in her wheelchair across the finish line.

Emma Fogarty is a 40-year-old Irish woman who lives with a rare skin condition called epidermolysis bullosa (EB). This skin condition is incurable and known as butterfly skin.

The PA Media news agency reports that Fogarty is Ireland’s oldest surviving person with the condition. She was born with no skin on her left foot and right arm and can develop very painful blisters from even the slightest touch.

Farrell completed the race to raise funds for DEBRA, an Irish charity supporting people who have EB.

The 48-year-old actor spoke very highly of Emma, saying “I have known Emma for many years and she epitomises bravery, she is what courage and pure determination are all about”.

Farrell continued, saying “That run was nothing compared to the pain she is forced to endure every single day, even though she doesn’t show it”.
