SCHOOL BUS DRIVER COLLIDES WITH CAMELS, DIES
A bus driver in eastern Australia died after he hit two camels with his bus. The bus then went down an embankment.
The school bus driver was driving the bus alone during the early hours of Monday morning when the incident took place.
A statement from Queensland state police said the 40-year-old driver “sustained critical injuries and died at the scene. The two camels also died as a result of the incident.”
News24 reports that a camel breeder in the area, John Richardson told national broadcaster ABC that police had informed him his animals were involved in the collision and he was “devastated” for the driver’s family.
It’s been reported that Richardson said he discovered a gate on his camel enclosure that had come off its hinges.
