TAYLOR SWIFT NAMED TIME PERSON OF THE YEAR

She’s not only smashing industry records and making money while she’s touring the world performing but now Taylor Swift has also been named Time magazine’s Person of the Year for 2023.

Time editor-in-chief Sam Jacobs said in a statement that Swift is the writer and hero of her own story.

“Taylor Swift found a way to transcend borders and be a source of light… Swift is the rare person who is both the writer and hero of her own story.”

“Much of what Swift accomplished in 2023 exists beyond measurement. She mapped her journey and shared the results with the world: She committed to validating the dreams, feelings, and experiences of people, especially women, who felt overlooked and regularly underestimated.”

The 33-year-old now falls into the same prestigious category as US President Joe Biden, Pope Francis, and climate activist Greta Thunberg.

Swift shared her excitement and gratitude towards the honour on her Instagram account:

“The biggest, loudest, most aggressively over-excited thank you to Time for naming me Person of the Year.”

It’s believed that each of Swift’s Eras Tour concerts generated about $13 million in revenue. The tour currently has 145 dates.

It’s clear, there’s no stopping this former country star now turned pop queen.
