TINA TURNER DEAD

Rockstar Tina Turner has passed away.

The 83-year-old died peacefully at her home in Switzerland after a long illness, her representative said.

For the last few years of her life, Turner lived in Europe with her husband of 10 years, Erwin Bach.

The singer had massive hits like The Best, Private Dancer, What’s Love Got To Do With It and Proud Mary and was often awarded the number one place on hit charts around the world.

Fellow musicians were quick to share their favourite stories of Turner as part of their tributes.

Mick Jagger, the Rolling Stones frontman said Turner was an “enormously talented performer and singer.

“She was inspiring, warm, funny and generous. She helped me so much when I was young and I will never forget her.”

The US-born Turner became famous when she sang together with her former husband Ike Turner. After years of abuse, Tina left Ike and tried her hand at a solo career.

That chance turned into an extremely successful career with millions of albums sold and several world tours sold out.
