TREVOR NOAH HOSTS WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS’ DINNER

South African comedian Trevor Noah is the first African to have hosted the White House correspondents’ dinner in Washington.

It was the first correspondents’ dinner since Covid and also the first dinner since Joe Biden became president of the United States. The annual event is usually attended by journalists, the big names in American politics and some Hollywood names as well.

Biden got in on the jokes when he made fun of his own poll ratings and even made fun of former president Donald Trump a few times.

Noah took a jab at the journalists when he compared them to podcast host Joe Rogan.

“You guys spent the last two years telling everyone about the importance of wearing masks and avoiding large, indoor gatherings. Then the second someone offers you a free dinner, you all turn into Joe Rogan, huh?”

Noah put Biden on the spot when he joked about his lack of actioning what he promised during his presidential campaign.

“As you all know, President Biden’s lack of a filter does get him into hot water sometimes. Last month, he caused a huge international scandal saying that Vladimir Putin should be removed from power. It was very, very upsetting to Russia. Until someone explained to them that none of the stuff Biden wants actually gets done.”
