TREVOR NOAH NOMINATED FOR FIRST GOLDEN GLOBE

Comedian Trevor Noah has been nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television category.

It’s the South African’s first nomination.

It’s also the first award show since the new leadership at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has taken over, and the first time that this category has been included.

The other new category added to the list is Cinematic and Box Office Achievement in Motion Pictures.

The 39-year-old was nominated for his performance on Where Was I, a Netflix special that was directed by David Paul Meyer and filmed at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, Michigan.

Besides being the comedian on the night, Noah was also the executive producer along with four other people.

Noah will face stiff competition from his fellow nominees Ricky Gervais, Wanda Sykes, Amy Schumer, Chris Rock and Sarah Silverman.

The 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards will take place in Los Angeles on 7 January 2024.
