TRIBUTES POUR IN FOR KIRSTIE ALLEY

Social media has been flooded with tributes to actress Kirstie Alley.

Alley passed away on Monday after a short battle with cancer. The news was announced by her children, True and Lillie Parker, in a statement on Twitter.

“To all our friends, far and wide around the world… we are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered.”

Actor John Travolta, who starred opposite Alley in the Look Who’s Talking franchise, shared a touching tribute.

“Kirstie was one of the most special relationships I’ve ever had. I love you, Kirstie. I know we will see each other again.”

Jamie Lee Curtis starred opposite Alley in Scream Queens by Ryan Murphy. It’s well known that the two didn’t really get on while filming, but Curtis posted that although they “agreed to disagree about some things”, the two “had a mutual respect and connection”.

Maria Shriver Tweeted: “I knew Kirstie for several decades and interviewed her many times. This is such heartbreaking news as she had so much more life to live. She had a kind heart and a great spirit, she loved her family and she loved life. May she rest in peace.”
