TYLA FIRST SOUTH AFRICAN ON BRITISH VOGUE COVER

South African pop star Tyla has had a big couple of months. Last year she won a Grammy and now it’s been revealed that she will be the cover star of the March edition of British Vogue.

This means Tyla is the first South African to appear on the cover of British Vogue and she’s also the first South African to cook them pap and wors.

Chioma Nnadi, British Vogue’s Head of Editorial Content, said Tyla “represents a refreshing new direction in music”, and hailed her as a music star and a fashion icon.

On the cover, Tyla can be seen wearing a pink Balenciaga bustier. She was photographed by photographer Rafael Pavarotti.

The magazine’s journalist travelled to South Africa to meet Tyla and was treated to the star-making pap and chutney with boerewors for the magazine’s video channel.

Tyla was quick to warn viewers that people shouldn’t judge her.

“Guys, if you are South Africa, please do not judge how I make it. Everybody makes it different, so let me be.”

Although she enjoys the life her music has provided, she admitted to not always loving the pressures of fame.

“I just miss being able to walk. Or sit in the park. Or go to Nando’s.”
