ADIDAS PORCELAIN SNEAKER COULD SELL FOR $1 MILLION
What do a porcelain vase and a pair of sneakers have in common? Well, if you combine them, they’re worth $1 million.
That’s what happened when Adidas took their ZX8000 sneaker and added Meissen’s Krater Vase design and world-famous porcelain to it. This was the first collab between these two iconic brands, each legendary in their own field.
High Snobiety reports that the one-of-one sneaker was assembled over six months. The premium Adidas leather was hand-painted by Meissen and the hand-made Meissen porcelain overlays come together on a design that weighs in at 950 grams.
The ZX8000 ‘Porcelain’ as it is known, is currently on display at Sotheby’s New York Festival of Wonder Exhibition before it will go under the hammer. It will be sold through an online-only auction on Sotheby’s website.
If you’re thinking of getting your bid in, you have until the 16th of December to do so, and rumours are that it could go for $1 million.
