AMAJITA MOVES TO KNOCKOUT PHASE

For the second time, Amajita has progressed to the knockout phase in the U20 World Cup.

The tournament is currently taking place in Chile.

The U20s managed to beat the United States 2-1 on Sunday and therefore ended up second in the standings of Group E. Runners-up in the groups automatically move to the knockout phase.

Gomolemo Kekane earned South Africa’s first goal, and Joshua Wyder scored with an own-goal, increasing the points on the scoreboard for South Africa.

Noah Cobb managed to score a goal for the United States, but it was too late.

The Man of the Match accolade was awarded to Gomolemo Kekane. The Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder outshone the other players in the midfield and gave South Africa the edge over their opponents.

Fletcher Smythe-Lowe, goalkeeper for the United States, had a great game. He managed to save six potential goals.

Amajita’s next match is against Colombia in the famous Round of 16. The match will take place at Estadio Fiscal in Talca on Wednesday.
