PROTEAS MATCHES REDUCED

An adjustment has been made to the Proteas international schedule for the 2025/26 season.

Cricket South Africa announced that the five-match T20 International series between the West Indies and the Proteas has been reduced to only three matches.

The three matches will be played between January 27 and 31, 2026.

The reason for the reduction in the number of matches in the tournament is the confirmation of the commencement date for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

The ICC (International Cricket Council) has confirmed that the T20 World Cup support period has now been scheduled to begin on 31 January.

The three matches in the tournament are scheduled as follows: Boland Park in Paarl on 27 January; SuperSport Park in Centurion on 29 January, and DP World Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on 31 January.

The Johannesburg game will be this season’s Pink Day match. The Pink Day match is an annual event, traditionally a one-day international match, where funds are raised in the fight against breast cancer.

SuperSport reports that in addition, the 2025/26 season will also feature a three-match Youth ODI series between South Africa Under-19s and India Under-19s at Willowmoore Park in Benoni from 3 - 7 January.
