ANC YOUTH LEAGUE WEBSITE HACKED AND LINKED TO PORN SITE
Amid an ongoing payment dispute with the websites developer, the ANC Youth league's website has been hacked and linked to a hardcore porn site for the past two weeks.
Since 2015, the ANC Youth League (ANCYL) has had no control over their website after their developer blocked them, citing outstanding payments for services rendered.
According to News24, ANC's legal advisor, Krish Naidoo, has written to the service provider, demanding that "the name and reputation of the party be protected".
The letter included the statement, "The ANC would have delinked the porn site from the youth league website itself had [the service provider] honoured an arbitrator's award to hand over ownership of the ANC website to the ANC.
"This has not happened, and we place on record that there is no legal basis for [the service provider] not to return ownership possession and control of the ANC website, including the ANC Youth League."
Noncebena Mhlauli, the spokesperson for the Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu, took aim at the National Youth Task Team (NYTT), saying "The eldership is so useless that they couldn't pick this up. @ANCYL give us back our organization. Inohlule lento (you have lost it)."
The NYTT is tasked with organizing the youth league's elective conference but, spokesperson Sizophila Mkhizi, says they are not responsible for the incident. Mkhizi says that they contacted the ANC when the hacking occurred.
According to Mkhizi, they have had no control of the website since being blocked by their developer in 2015.
