BARCELONA HOTELS GET CREATIVE WITH THEIR ROOMS

With tourists nowhere to be seen, hotels in Barcelona have had to adapt in order to make ends meet.

Many hotels are opting to rather have fewer guests, than no guests at all, as it allows them to pay their staff some money and not operate at a complete loss.

One hotel has opened up their rooms and facilities for long term guests.

So, instead of commuting between their home and office they now rent a room at the Gallery Hotel on a long-term basis. Those that get bored of their work from home life also have the option to rent a room.

As a long-term guest, you are allowed to make use of the swimming pool, spa and the gym, as well as the open spaces that have been created for teleworking, reports News24.

Other guests also include couples who are refurbishing their homes, people whose relocation plans have been put on hold and even those who were shopping for an apartment, but found the hotel option to work out cheaper.

With Europe’s second wave hitting the continent hard, no one can predict when things for the tourism industry will go back to normal, if at all.

Many hotels in other European countries have been forced to shut down completely. With the ski and Christmas season meant to be in full swing at the moment, financial losses are predicted to be extremely high.
