Bella Hadid has been named the British Fashion Awards’ Model of the Year for 2022.
The 26-year-old made sure everyone had her name on their lips when she got spray painted with a dress while on the runway. The fashion stint took place during Coperni’s spring/summer 2023 show.
The moment went viral and took the world of social media by storm, making Hadid almost a household name.
At the awards ceremony, Hadid was unable to receive the award in person but sent her stylist Carlos Nazaro instead. Her absence was due to her struggles with Lyme disease.
The American shared a pre-recorded acceptance speech on Instagram coupled with a caption:
“Thank you for the recognition, @britishfashioncouncil and my fashion family. I have too much to write in caption! My gratitude goes beyond words but I tried my best! Thank you thank you.”
The American is no stranger to the world of fashion. Her mom Yolanda is a former model and her sister Gigi is a force to be reckoned with in the world of modelling.
According to her Wikipedia page, Hadid broke Doutzen Kroes’s record for the most Vogue September covers in one year by appearing in five international editions in 2017. This included China, Spain, Brazil, Australia and Arabia.
