TAYLOR SWIFT TO MAKE DIRECTORIAL DEBUT

Pop superstar Taylor Swift is about to make her debut in a new industry.

The singer has written a script that will be produced by Searchlight Pictures. At this stage, details about the script, actors and plot have not been made available yet.

Although it will be the first future length film that Swift directs, it won’t be her first. Earlier this year she released All Too Well, a 15-minute-long short film.

The film served as the music video for the re-recorded version of her 2012 hit of the same name. Swift re-recorded most of her songs after a rights transaction led to her losing out on owning the rights of her own songs.

Searchlight Pictures presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield shared their excitement over the film.

“Taylor is a once-in-a-generation artist and storyteller. It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey.”

The 32-year-old has already won 11 Grammy Awards, but rumours are doing the rounds that she might be up for an Oscar when the nominations are announced next month.

With award season around the corner, Swift has been invited to appear in the first episode of the new season of Directors on Directors.

The series features famous Hollywood directors who have released films during the past 12 months and who are likely to be nominated. Two directors are featured per episode and they interview each other about their films.
