BERLIN CLUB BECOMES COVID VACCINATION SITE

The German capital is known for its thriving clubbing scene, well that was before the pandemic. Like other nightclubs around the world, Arena in the city of Berlin had to close its doors to combat the spread of the virus as the country went into lockdown.

Since it’s a big space that can house hundreds of people, it has since been used as one of Berlin’s five main vaccination centres.

Germany has seen a dramatic u-turn on its people getting the Covid-19 vaccine and has since tried several concepts to get people to start vaccinating again.

One of those ideas is to get some of Berlin’s top underground DJs to perform at Arena while people are inline waiting to get their injection or killing time during the mandatory 15-minute wait after getting injected.

While some are in full party gear and loving the idea of listening to their favourite dance tracks while waiting in line, it seems as if word spread quickly on social media.

The Berlin ministry for health said that in all, about 420 people were vaccinated at the Arena club on Monday alone. Monday’s party is one of three vaccination events to be held at Arena.
