BEST HOTEL IN THE WORLD ANNOUNCED

The hotel is located on Lake Como, a favourite playground in Italy for the very rich and very famous.
Passalacqua was built by a pope and can count Napoleon Bonaparte and Winston Churchill as former guests. It is owned by a local family, the De Santis family, who also own another luxury hotel in the same area.
After a three-year restoration project, Passalacqua opened its doors again in 2022 after the owners Antonella Mallone and Paolo De Santis handed over they keys to the hotel to their daughter.
Valentina De Santis is the 41-year-old CEO of their family company and was in charge of bringing Passalacqua back to its former glory.
CNN reports that there are seven acres of lake-facing terraced gardens, meticulously manicured and complete with a calming soundtrack of water fountains. Guests spend their time out here having a drink, partaking in yoga or lounging by the pool decked out in vibrant prints.
