BLAKE LIVELY DROPS TWO CLAIMS AGAINST JUSTIN BALDONI
Blake Lively has withdrawn two claims in her case against fellow actor Justin Baldoni.
The actors starred together in the movie It Ends With Us, released in 2024. Rumours began to spread while the movie was still being filmed that the two lead actors didn’t get along.
Shortly before the end of last year, Lively sued Baldoni. She accused him of sexual harassment and a smear campaign.
Soon after, Baldoni counter-sued Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds, accusing them of civil extortion, defamation and invasion of privacy.
As part of their case against Lively, Baldoni’s legal team requested that Lively release her medical records, including therapy notes, because Lively claims she suffered “severe emotional distress and pain, humiliation, embarrassment”.
Since that request, Lively has requested the court to drop the claims of intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress, but it’s up to the court to decide if it will approve the request to dismiss or force Lively to hand over the relevant information.
The screenings and press releases associated with the film turned messy with Baldoni not attending all the events and never seen on the red carpet alongside Lively and the other cast members.
Singer Taylor Swift, who’s known to be friends with Lively, was summoned by a court last month, after it was alleged she encouraged Baldoni to agree and accept Lively’s script rewrites.
