EGYPTIAN MINISTER INVITES ELON MUSK TO VISIT THE FAMOUS PYRAMIDS
Egypt's Minister of International Cooperation, Rania al-Mashat, invited Elon Musk to visit the pyramids with a top Egyptian official after the billionaire shared an old conspiracy theory that they were built by "Aliens".
The Tesla CEO and founder of SpaceX, gave the credit to extra terestrials for building the pyramids in Giza near Cairo in a tweet on Friday when he wrote, "Aliens built the pyramids obv".
The bizarre message immediatly prompted a response from Minister Rania al-Mashat, who responded by writing "I follow your work with a lot of admiration. I invite you & Space X to explore the writings about how the pyramids were built and also to check out the tombs of the pyramid builders. Mr. Musk, we are waiting for you".
Musk who’s tweet reached more than 500,000 likes, and has been retweed over 87,000 times, did not hold back. He replied in a follow up social media post linking to an article describing how the pyramids were more likely built by humans living in an Egyptian settlement, and wrote 'This BBC article provides a sensible summary for how it was done,' and added a link to a story with the headline, 'The Private Lives of the Pyramid-builders'.
The billionaire, known for making erratic tweets, unfortunately couldn't shake off the original comment about aliens, as Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass delivered a video response in Arabic, debunking the claim aliens were involved. "This is a response from Zahi Hawass to American billionaire Elon Musk," Hawass said in the footage posted on his Facebook page, Egypt Today reported. "What you said about the pyramids is completely hallucination, the pyramids are built by Egyptians. I found the tombs of the pyramids builders that tell everyone that the builders of the pyramids are Egyptians and they were not slaves."
History tells us that the Egyptians built the pyramids thousands of years ago, mostly to serve as tombs for their pharaohs. However, we are all known to entertain various conspiracy theorists and theories about various historical events. In this case, conspiracy theories give aliens credit for building the pyramids.
Archaeologists in 2018 came a step closer to understanding how the Great Pyramid, the largest of the structures commissioned by Fourth Dynasty Egyptian pharaoh Khufu, was built about 4,500 years ago. They also discovered that the remains of a ramp system were unearthed in an ancient quarry in the Eastern Desert, according to Live Science.
Researchers from the French Institute for Oriental Archaeology in Cairo and the University of Liverpool in England, discovered the ancient ramp at the site of Hatnub. With the discovery they found along its sides two staircases lined with postholes, to which ropes were likely tied thousands of years ago to drag the huge stone blocks.
But, this conspiracy theory about the pyramids is not the only one which Elon has thrown about.
During his appearance in 2018 on comedian Joe Rogan's popular podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience – where he was also seen smoking a joint – he explained why he believes we are living in the Matrix. He continued that the sheer age of the universe, which is around 13.8 billion years, means alien civilizations have had time to develop the complex systems needed.
"If you assume any rate of improvement at all, then games will be indistinguishable from reality, or civilization will end. One of those two things will occur. Therefore, we are most likely in a simulation, because we exist. I think most likely – this is just about probability – there are many, many simulations. You might as well call them reality, or you could call them multiverse."
