EMPLOYER WHO URINATED IN CHINESE BEER DETAINED

A video showing a man urinating into a malt container at a brewery has been doing the rounds over the last few weeks.

The man is believed to be an employee at Chinese brewer Tsingtao. The video shows him dressed in blue overalls and a hard hat. He climbs into a malt container at the beer factory in Pingdu and urinates into a malt container.

In a statement, the brewery said that the man in question had been detained by security authorities. It added that the company has adopted several measures to strengthen monitoring of employee behaviour with the idea of preventing similar incidents from happening again in the future.

“Our company attaches high importance to the relevant video that emerged from Tsingtao Brewery No. 3 on 19 October.”

The beer maker has also stated that all batches linked to the incident have been sealed.

“At present, the batch of malt in question has been completely sealed. The company continues to strengthen its management procedures and ensure product quality.”
