ROOIBOS CHOSEN AS NEW PANTONE FOR 2024

It’s official! South Africa’s influence on the top 10 colours in the Fashion Colour Trend Report has been made. Rooibos Pantone was used for spring 2024 at the recent New York Fashion Week (NYFW).

Rooibos Pantone was chosen as part of the top 10 from 2,390 colours as one of the standout colours for next year.

The 10 colours are chosen by Pantone LLC, the international authority on colour and the provider of professional colour standards for the design industries.

Leatrice Eiseman, the famous colour specialist and executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute said that that Rooibos Pantone could be descried as “restorative”.

“Colours for NYFW Spring 2024 introduce a new interpretation of current times as memories of the past and a glimpse of the future.”

She continued by saying that the new palette is refreshing.

“Just as people sometimes use food to revitalise themselves, the spring colour palette can be equally refreshing.”

With the fashion world usually quick to adopt the colour palette as set out by Pantone LLC, major fashion brands including Emilio Pucci, Gucci, Alexandra O’Neill, Josie Natori, Bally, and Zegna have all been early adopters of the colour.
