EVAN SPIEGEL AND MIRANDA KERR PAYS OFF 285 STUDENTS’ COLLEGE DEBT

Evan Spiegel And Miranda Kerr Pays Off 285 Students’ College Debt

The class of 2022 at Otis College of Art and Design will forever remember their graduation ceremony.

Not because it indicated that they’ve successfully completed their studies and have now officially graduated, but because all 285 students received the news that their college fees have been paid off on their behalf.

At the ceremony, the college’s president Charles Hirschhorn introduced the guests on the stage and many recognised Australian model turned businesswoman Miranda Kerr and her American husband Evan Spiegel, the CEO of Snap Inc and founder of Snapchat.

At the ceremony, both Spiegel and Kerr received honorary doctorates. Towards the end of the ceremony, just before the graduates were about to celebrate in the traditional way of throwing their graduate caps up in the air, Hirschhorn made a very special announcement.

He first acknowledged that the 285 students were probably now facing student debt that would put a lot of them in a disadvantaged position once they start working.

NPR reports that some 77% of the student body identifies as people of colour, and over 90% receive financial aids, according to the Los Angeles nonprofit institution.

He then announced that, thanks to a donation the college received from Spiegel and Kerr, the class of 2022’s college fees have been taken care of.

Spiegel has a bond with the college as he took design classes there during high school before he matriculated and went to Stanford University.

The 31-year-old is believed to have a current net worth of about $5.05 billion.
