FITNESS INSTRUCTOR ACCIDENTALLY CAPTURES MAYNMAR COUP UNFOLDING

A fitness instructor in Maynmar was recording her daily workout routine when she accidentally captured the government coup unfolding in the background.

Khing Hnin Wai’s workout went viral when viewers realised that the military, with their armoured vehicles, were moving in on parliament and were about to overthrow the government of the South East Asian country.

The BBC reports that the music she was doing her workout to is a song by Tian Storm x Ever Slkr, and includes the lyrics "They are coming, one by one, to fight over the throne".

Maynmar, the country formally known as Burma, made headlines on the 1st of February when the country’s leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, and members of her ruling party were captured and detained by the military.

The military was in charge of the country before, after a coup d'état in 1962 that lasted 26 years. The BBC further reports that it is now back in charge and has declared a year-long state of emergency. It seized control following a general election which Ms Suu Kyi’s National League for Democracy party won by a landslide.
