FOUR SEPARATE FILMS ABOUT THE BEATLES ON THE WAY
Acclaimed film director Sir Sam Mendes has announced that he will be making four separate films about The Beatles.
The Oscar-winning director said the four movies will be made from each band member’s perspective.
Permission and music rights for the four films have been granted by Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the families of the other two members who have passed away, John Lennon and George Harrison.
Mendes said he was “honoured to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time”.
The Beatles, who formed in the 1960s in the English city of Liverpool, were instrumental in the sound of rock and released several number-one albums and songs during their successful career.
Some of the most famous songs include ‘Yesterday’, ‘Let it Be’, ‘Hey, Jude’ and ‘Here Comes the Sun’.
The films will only be released in cinemas in 2027 and at this stage, it’s not clear if all four films will be released at once.
Mendes is no stranger to Hollywood as he has previously directed American Beauty, Empire of Light, two James Bond movies as well as Revolutionary Road.
