OPPENHEIMER WINS BIG AT BAFTAS

The Royal Albert Hall in London brought together the biggest names in film and television as it played host to the 2024 British Academy of Film and Television Awards (Baftas) on Sunday.

The star-studded event was hosted by Scottish actor David Tennant known for his reprising role as Doctor Who in the series of the same name.

Hollywood A-listers like Margot Robbie, Ryan Reynolds and Emma Stone attended the event.

Oppenheimer won a string of categories including Best Film, Best Director for Christopher Nolan, Best Actor for Cillian Murphy, Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jnr, Best Cinematography and Best Editing.

The Best Leading Actress award went to Emma Stone for her role in Poor Things while Da’Vine Joy Randolph walked away with the Best Supporting Actress Award for The Holdovers.

Back To The Future star Michael J Fox received a standing ovation from the crowd. The actor, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991, presented the award for Best Actor.

British actress Emily Blunt, who was nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in Oppenheimer, took her parents along as her dates for the evening.
