FRIDAY EVENING LOADSHEDDING A POSSIBILITY

Eskom has warned that the chances of loadshedding happening on Friday night are big due to the constrained power system.

In a statement released by the power utility, it said that five of its generation units had to be taken off the grids and therefore raising the possibility of loadshedding significantly.

According to the statement, any additional breakdowns will compromise Eskom’s ability to supply the country. This constrained supply situation may persist throughout the weekend.

The public has been urged to reduce electricity usage between 16:00 and 22:00 to lessen the risk of loadshedding.
