GEORGE BEZOS WEDDED OVER 3-DAY FESTIVAL
Amazon founder George Bezos has married journalist Lauren Sanchez.
The wedding took place over three days in the city of Venice, Italy, with an estimated budget of $50 million.
Hundreds of celebrities, politicians and business people gathered to celebrate with the couple. Among them were Bill Gates, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Brady, Kris Jenner, Oprah Winfrey, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Orlando Bloom and Jordan’s Queen Rania.
US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka also attended the wedding with her husband, Jared Kushner.
The 61-year-old groom and the 55-year-old bride exchanged their vows on Friday evening during a ceremony that took place on the island of San Giorgio. The happy couple were serenaded by Matteo Bocelli, son of the famous Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli.
Sanchez wore a gown designed by Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana, which was based on the dress Sophia Loren wore in the wedding scene in the 1958 film Houseboat. Domenico Dolce from Dolce & Gabbana was also in attendance as a guest.
Not too far from where the festivities were taking place, protests were in full swing. Locals are complaining that Venice is becoming trampled by tourists, and its high living prices are becoming more suited to the rich tourists than to locals.
