GHISLAINE MAXWELL DENIED BAIL

Ghislaine Maxwell, The 58-year old ex-girlfriend of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has been denied bail.

She is currently being held in a detention centre in Brooklyn, New York for her alleged recruitment of teenage girls for Epstein to abuse.

Up until her arrest a month ago, Ghislaine Maxwell was living in a three million dollar home in New Hampshire, paid for by a mysterious shell company. Her lawyers stated that she wasn't hiding out in this house from the police, rather, she was trying to avoid the media.

Prosecutors in the case stated that Maxwell holds three passports, "has the ability to live in hiding and is good at it," she has "significant and unexplained wealth," and "is the definition of a flight risk".

While Maxwell’s lawyers proposed $5-million bail and the offer to stay in a luxury hotel to be paid for by the accused until her trial, the judge denied it.

The former socialite’s trial is scheduled for 12 July 2021.

If found guilty, Maxwell could face up to 35 years in jail.
