GOLDEN GLOBE NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED
The nominations for the 78th Golden Globe Awards have been announced.
With a pandemic, it's little wonder that Netflix leads the nominations, with 22 films and 20 TV shows in the running.
The award show will be held on the 28th of February and will be hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. This will be the fourth time that the female comedy duo host the show, which will be held virtually.
Netflix's royal drama, The Crown, that has caused somewhat of an uncomfortable feeling among the royal family, has received six nominations, followed by Schitt’s Creek with five nominations.
The 2021 Cecil B. deMille Award will be awarded to actress, Jane Fonda, for her outstanding contributions to the industry.
Chadwick Boseman has received a posthumous nomination for his role in the Netflix film Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Boseman died of colon cancer in 2020.
Both Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant were nominated for their performances in crime thriller The Undoing.
