GOLF’S VERSION OF ‘DRIVE TO SURVIVE’ PLANNED

Netflix has announced that it’s in the works to create a golf version similar to the popular F1 series ‘Drive To Survive’.

Together with the PGA Tour and some of the world’s biggest golf major championships, the streaming service will be following some of the world’s biggest names in golf as they compete against each other. They will be followed around the globe during the 2022 season.

CNN has described the documentary as a first in golf reporting that all four governing bodies that organise golf’s major championships, Augusta National Golf Club, the PGA of America, the USGA, and The R&A, will provide access to all four majors, as well as some of the biggest events on the PGA Tour schedule, including the Players Championship and the season-ending FedExCup.

Rick Anderson, chief media officer of the PGA Tour said that the documentary “will give fans an authentic look into the real lives of our athletes, and what it’s like to win, and lose, during a season on the PGA Tour”.

Neither Netflix nor the PGA has indicated when the series will be wrapped up and ready to be streamed.
