GOVERNMENT CAN'T FIND THE WOMAN WHO GAVE BIRTH TO 10 BABIES

A Tembisa woman, who allegedly gave birth to 10 babies, is still missing. IOL reported that she broke the Guinness World Record for the most babies born at the same time.

While the report identified the mother as Gosiame Thamara Sithole and the father, Teboho Tsotetsi, the hospital where the babies were born was never identified.

Phumla Williams, director-general for the government communications department, tweeted about the matter. She asked the public to assist them in helping to find the mother, father and the babies as the government wanted to assist them.

"We have spent a better part of today tracing the IOL story of a woman having given birth to 10 babies! IOL, can you please help the public where this birth happened!" read the tweet in which IOL was tagged.

Tsotetsi was quoted as saying his wife gave birth to seven boys and three girls.

When IOL broke the story, #NationalBabyShower became a thing, with individuals and big brands offering to donate to the family. Since no one has come forward to claim the donations, no donations have materialised.

If the story is true, Sithole would have broken the Guinness World Record previously held by a woman in Morocco who gave birth to nine babies.
