HONG KONG RESTAURANT COVERS BILL FOR STAFF TO VISIT THEIR FAMILIES IN OTHER COUNTRIES

Hong Kong’ Black Sheep Restaurants group is about to change the lives of its staff members and their families.

That’s because all the staff members will be allowed to go home to visit their loved ones and the restaurant group will be paying for most of it.

Not only will the restaurant group pay for flights and all the Covid tests needed, but they will also pay the staff members extra weeks of unpaid leave so that they will be able to complete the mandatory quarantine time set out by the city.

CNN reports that according to Hong Kong’s famously strict entry restrictions, any returning residents spend either two or three weeks, at their own expense, quarantining in designated hotels.

While the staff members will be staying at the hotels, Black Sheep Restaurants will deliver them meals from one of their 32 restaurants every single night.

So, what’s the catch? The staff members are required to complete one year of service once they have returned.

For the staff members, it’s an easy decision to make because they want to stay on as employees of the restaurant group because of its generosity.

One of the staff members, Amy Stott, said her family in England was blown away by the gesture.

“My dad said that he knew already that I work with amazing people, but this is by far the most generous gesture he had come across. My mum just sobbed.”
