IKEA WORKERS IN DENMARK HAVE SLEEPOVER IN STORE AFTER SNOWSTORM

A massive snowstorm in Aalborg, Denmark left about 25 IKEA workers and six customers stuck inside the store.

Just over 30 centimetres of snow fell within a short time. It meant that the staff members and customers were unable to get out and go home.

“It was a once in a lifetime experience,” IKEA’s store manager Peter Elmose told Business Insider. “I’ve been working in IKEA, and I’ve never experienced this before.”

The group hung out together, watched TV, played card games and had dinner in the staff cafeteria. Dinner consisted of hot cinnamon buns, hot chocolate and coffee.

When they wanted to watch the Liverpool-Everton soccer match, they brought sofas over from the living room section. They even hooked up a projector to watch the match and some Christmas movies.

When it got time to go to bed, they got to choose which beds and sofas they wanted to spend the night in.

Three women from a neighbouring store were also trapped when they heard about the people in the IKEA store on the news. They managed to walk 700 metres through the storm to join them.
