KANYE WEST WANTS TO CHANGE HIS NAME TO YE

Whether it’s a publicity stunt to go along with his new album release or whether he really just wants to change his name, Kanye West had definitely made headlines with his latest court application.

West has filed an application at the Los Angeles Superior Court to have his name changed from Kanye Omari West to just Ye. According to the application, he doesn’t want another first name or surname citing ‘personal reasons’ for this decision.

During a radio interview in 2018, the artists explained the name change.

“I believe ‘ye’ is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible it means you. So I’m you, I’m us, it’s us. During the interview, he said his name “went from Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye – just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused, everything.”

Ye was also the name of the album he released that year. It is expected that Donda, West’s tenth studio album will drop within the next few weeks.

With news about his name change going viral, Kim Kardashian West has announced that she won’t be changing her surname.
