KELLY CLARKSON TO PAY EX-HUSBAND R2.8 MILLION PER MONTH
She’s been working hard and making a lot of money, and now it seems that Kelly Clarkson will have to share a big chunk of her wealth with her ex-husband.
The singer and TV host announced her split from Brandon Blackstock in June 2020. Since the announcement, the two have been fighting it out in court as Blackstock claimed for spousal support and wanted changes made to their prenuptial contract.
A Los Angeles court went against his wishes to have the prenuptial contract annulled. He did, however, manage to get approval for spousal support of R2.8 million per month.
Reports have indicated that the 44-year-old former music manager asked for double that amount as he has grown accustomed to the lavish lifestyle thanks to Clarkson’s income from her very successful music career, her own TV talk show, and as one of the coaches on The Voice.
Clarkson’s fellow The Voice coach, Blake Shelton used to be managed by Blackstock. It’s believed that he has since announced that he will be leaving the entertainment industry and that his father has taken over the management role of country superstar Shelton.
