KIM KARDASHIAN THROWS 40TH BIRTHDAY PARTY ON ISLAND AND THE INTERNET REACTS
Not even a global pandemic can stop a Kardashian from having a massive party on an island. Never one for turning media attention away, Kim Kardashian went all out to show everyone just what they missed out on while fighting a global pandemic and crumbling economies.
The reality star invited her closest friends and family to a secret island where they partied like "normal" people do.
In a Twitter post, the 40-year-old said that "after 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time".
While the star said that she realises just how privileged her life is and that her experience is out of reach for most people, the Internet still gave her slack.
CNN reports that nightmarish scenes from films including Midsommar, Parasite and The Wicker Man were substituted into Kardashian’s tweet by a number of creative Twitter users.
While the Kardashians have never been one for showing sympathy when the situation calls for it – remember Kris Jenner having to ask Khloe to stop taking selfies on their way to book Kim in at jail? – the star had to at least get some credit for acknowledging her privileges and adding that the experienced humbled her.
But then again, the photos aren’t really indicating humbleness.
