KING CHARLES DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER

King Charles III has made his first public appearance since he was diagnosed with cancer. This comes after doctors discovered the cancer during a routine medical checkup.

The news was announced by Buckingham Palace. Although the type of cancer wasn’t identified in the statement, it was said that King Charles would step back from public-facing royal duties to undergo treatment.

On Tuesday, he was seen in public for the first time since the statement was released. He left the Palace late on Tuesday morning with the Press Association reporting that he was “believed to be preparing to travel by helicopter to Sandringham”.

Sandringham is the royal family’s residence in the eastern part of England.

Following an overnight flight to London, his youngest son Prince Harry arrived from London on Tuesday morning. It’s believed he travelled to Sandringham by helicopter after landing at Heathrow.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said in a statement that the cancer was “caught early” by the doctors.

The royal family’s health was in the spotlight recently when both King Charles and Catherine, Princess of Wales were admitted to hospital—Charles for a benign prostate procedure and Catherine for abdominal surgery.
