LIL NAS X 'RIPS PANTS' DURING SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE PERFORMANCE
What will be the most embarrassing thing that can happen to you while on live TV? Falling on your face, maybe flashing a private part accidentally? Well, Lil Nas X experienced one such embarrassing moment himself. He suffered a wardrobe malfunction while performing live on the latest episode of Saturday Night Live.
The "Old Town Road" rapper performed his new single "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)" but, unfortunately, it didn't turn out as planned.
During the performance, Lil Nas X is seen gyrating against a pole, wearing tight-fitting leather trousers. Then, he ended up covering his pelvis with his hands after his pants ripped.
Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, had to finish the performance while covering his ripped pants with his hands.
The singer took to Twitter after the episode aired. He joked, "NOT MY PANTS, RIPPED ON LIVE ON TV". He tweeted a follow-up post adding: "OMFG NO."
"I wanted to do my pole routine so bad this what i get lmaoo," he wrote in a third Twitter post.
Lil Nas shared the incident on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where he explained that; "I was pretty much going down the pole, you know, doing my little sexy drop-down, and boom: I feel air. I was like, 'OK, there's definitely a breeze going on.' And I also feel, like, some popping still happening while I was down there. I was like, 'Oh god, I hope it's not…'.
"I was like, 'Just please don't be on TV already,' you know? And SNL is actually live, so… You know what the worst part is? At the end of the performance, the dancers are supposed to touch me and tug on me or whatever, and they were tugging on the pants, and I was like, 'Please stop.' […] I couldn't say it because I would ruin the performance, like, 'Guys, stop, please,' but I couldn't say it."
The season finale, where Lil Nas appeared, was hosted by The Queen's Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy and featured a guest appearance from Chris Rock.
