MADELEINE MCCANN MYSTERY STILL ONGOING
The mysterious disappearance of three-year-old Madeleine McCann back in 2007, has still not been solved and is back in the spotlight again.
The British toddler disappeared from her vacation accommodation in Portugal while her parents and their friends were having dinner, just metres away, in the coastal holiday town of Praia da Luz.
While no one was ever arrested for the disappearance in what The Daily Telegraph described as "the most heavily reported missing-person case in modern history", a new suspect has been identified.
The Independent has reported that the prime suspect, Christian Brueckner, a convicted paedophile, is currently in prison for the rape of an American woman in Portugal two years before McCann disappeared.
His cell phone was picked up by a cell phone tower on the night that the toddler went missing.
Brueckner’s former residence in Hamburg was recently searched and the lot excavated in the hope of finding something related to McCann’s disappearance. He was also suspected of abducting another child in his home country of Germany.
SkyNews reported that a hidden cellar was found at Brueckner’s former home, but that it hasn’t brought about any new information.
