MAN CITY REIGNITE TITLE PUSH

Manchester City delivered a performance of authority and precision on Sunday that should put the rest of the Premier League on alert. After a season marked by inconsistency and questions over whether Pep Guardiola’s side had begun to decline, their comprehensive victory over Liverpool felt like a definitive response.

City entered the campaign under scrutiny following a third-place finish and early exits in multiple competitions, but their recent form suggests they’ve steadied themselves.

The win over the defending champions stretched their run to just one loss in 14 matches and underlined a team regaining its competitive edge.

Erling Haaland continues to headline City’s attack, but the squad’s resurgence is also being driven by emerging contributors. At left-back, 18-year-old Nico O’Reilly has shown composure beyond his age, highlighted by his strong defensive display against Mohamed Salah.

Phil Foden has returned to top form, earning a recall to the England squad, while the central defensive pairing of Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol has provided stability during a demanding run of fixtures.

The schedule now intensifies: City face 10 matches between 22 November and year’s end, including challenging away games at Real Madrid, Newcastle and Crystal Palace. Their win over Liverpool, combined with Arsenal dropping points at Sunderland, has cut the gap at the top to four points.

If City maintain this trajectory through the upcoming congested stretch, they’ll position themselves firmly back in the title race and potentially in control of it.
