MAN FOUND ALIVE IN MORGUE

An Indian man was found alive in a hospital morgue freezer after being mistakenly declared dead. The man was involved in a road accident.

A speeding motorbike hit Srikesh Kumar last week in an area just east of the capital New Delhi. On his arrival at a hospital in Moradabad, he was declared dead, and his body was put in the morgue’s freezer as is the norm.

However, when his family arrived six hours later, they discovered that he was still breathing even though he was unconscious.

The 45-year-old man was then immediately transferred to one of the hospital’s wards, but he died on Tuesday evening after slipping into a coma. It is believed the coma was the result of a brain injury sustained during the accident.

AFP reports that Kumar died shortly after that and that his body was then handed over to his family. Kumar’s brother told AFP that he was cremated late Wednesday.
