MARIAH CAREY REVEALS HER UNCOMFORTABLE EXPERIENCE ON 2008 ELLEN DEGENERES SHOW

Mariah Carey shares her uncomfortable experience during an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and reveals that she felt "forced" to share the news of her pregnancy.

The singer's appearance on the show happened seven months prior to her marriage to ex, Nick Cannon.

Carey reveals that weeks after the interview, she experienced a tragic miscarriage. At the time of the interview, she was trying to protect herself and her privacy by sharing with Ellen that it was too early to drink and joked that booze was calorific, to which Ellen whooped in delight that she was pregnant.

"I was extremely uncomfortable with that moment is all I can say. And I really have had a hard time grappling with the aftermath. I wasn’t ready to tell anyone because I had had a miscarriage. I don't want to throw anyone that's already being thrown under any proverbial bus, but I didn't enjoy that moment."

Carey explained that she wished more empathy was shown towards her as she was clearly not enjoying the moment.

In recent events several claims have been made by current and former employees of the show stating that it was a "toxic" environment to work in. Ellen later apologised to her employees regarding the accusations made.
