MEXICAN INFLUENCER KILLED WHILE DOING TIKTOK LIVE

A Mexican social media influencer was shot and killed while she was doing a live stream on TikTok.

23-year-old Valeria Marquez was in her beauty salon in the city of Guadalajara. She was sitting at a table holding a stuffed animal and doing a livestream when a man entered and shot her.

Local media suggested she was killed by a man who pretended to bring her a gift.

The footage only ended when an unidentified person picked up her phone to stop the livestream.

The state prosecutor said the case is being investigated as femicide, but that the motive for the killing hasn’t been identified yet.

Marquez’s fans reacted in horror, especially those who witnessed the killing.

The prosecutor’s office hasn’t named a suspect, but the case is being investigated with the assistance of forensic experts.

Zapopan’s mayor, Juan Jose Frangie, told AFP that his office had no record of Marquez requesting help from the authorities due to threats against her.

He added, “A femicide is the worst thing”.
