MOTHER-OF-TWO FOUND TORTURED TO DEATH IN MEXICO

An American woman and mother-of-two's body was discovered after being brutally murdered in Mexico.

The 23-year-old deceased, Lizbeth Flores, travelled to Matamoros, Mexico on 9 August to visit her boyfriend. Maria Rubio, mother of the deceased claimed that her daughter would have return later that same night back to her Brownsville Texas home.

When Flores did not return, Rubio contacted the Brownsville (Texas) Police Department on August 10 to file a missing person's report.

Flores was found deceased on 11 August, and was reported to have been found with all of her teeth missing.  

Matamoros police confirmed that Flores died from head injuries suffered, and reported that she was beaten with a rock that was found at the scene.

Law enforcement investigators also confirmed that Flores' teeth was removed by force and that a part of her scalp had also been removed. "Losing a child is like having your heart ripped out," Rubio said.

"I feel very sad for what they did to my daughter. How they left her is what pains me. The pain that my daughter went through there at that time is what pains me."

Reports also state that Flores was tortured to death. According to KRGV-TV, the FBI is involved in the investigation due to the fact that Flores is a U.S. citizen. Law enforcement also confirmed that no arrests have been made thus far.
