MTN NOW OFFERS MONTH-TO-MONTH CONTRACTS

Cellular giant, MTN, is now offering month-to-month contracts for those who prefer not to be locked in by a 24-month contract.

This offer is available to both new and existing customers since 1 September 2020.

Jacqui O’Sullivan, Executive Head: Corporate Affairs at MTN, told Tech Financials that because these are uncertain times for many, MTN is responding to their customer's needs with greater flexibility, as not everyone can afford the commitment of a fixed contract.

"We developed this offer with freelancers, entrepreneurs, independent contractors and part-time temporary workers, who live from contract to contract, in mind, and we hope it can help alleviate some of the pressure being felt by so many right now."

Business Insider reports that, although the month-to-month contract will cost customers 30% more, it will give them more freedom and it's easier to apply for.

Customers simply need to provide their name, South African ID, and debit order details if they prefer to pay via a debit order. They can also prefer to pay in cash, EFT, credit card, or debit card.

The month-to-month option might not be ideal for everyone, but it could be a saving grace for some as many contractors and freelancers haven't received an income for several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
