NORTH-WEST UNIVERSITY OPENS SIYA KOLISI RESIDENCE

It’s official! The Siya Kolisi Residence on the North-West University’s (NWU) campus is open. And the brand-new residence was opened by none other than the man himself, Siya Kolisi supported by Rassie Erasmus.

The new residence will primarily be used by students affiliated with the university’s rugby institute.

Springboks coach Erasmus was not only there to support his captain, but also to officially open the new Invictus Residence right next door.

The Invictus Residence will be a multisport residence.

At the official opening event, Kolisi thanked those who have played a part in his life.

“No one ever dreams to have moments like this, to have a building named after them. I am so honoured and grateful for this opportunity. I would like to thank everyone who has been a part of my journey. I am standing on the shoulders of many people who have helped me be where I am today.”

Erasmus received an honorary doctorate from the NUW in 2024 where he is known as Doctor Rassie Erasmus. At the opening, he said he’s privileged to be part of a university that thinks outside the box, and expressed his desire to see both the residences go from strength to strength.
