POLISH WOMAN CLAIMS TO BE MADELAINE MCCANN
A 23-year-old Polish woman is claiming to be Madeleine McCann’s.
Madelaine went missing from her family hotel room in 2007 while the family was on vacation in Portugal’s Algarve. No trace of her was ever found and her family believes she is still alive.
Julia Wandelt posted on social media that she has DNA test results proving that she is related to Madelaine’s father Gerry.
Wandelt says her DNA was tested against hair from the holiday apartment where Madeleine was last seen along with saliva from the bedding in the apartment.
According to the results, there’s a 69.23% match with the DNA of Madeleine.
Wandelt also posted documents with the results, saying: “The genetic evidence strongly supports that Gerry McCann could be Julia Wandelt’s biological father, as the data aligns perfectly with a parent-child relationship.”
This isn’t the first time that Wandelt has claimed to be Madeleine. In 2023, she started to post on Instagram under the account name @IAmMadeleineMcCann.
After receiving backlash from people online and the family dismissing her claim, she later apologised and said she “regretted” the entire ordeal.
