RAMAPHOSA INVITES ZELENSKY TO SA

President Cyril Ramaphosa has extended an invitation to Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The South African President announced X following a phone call between the two state heads.

“I welcome the constructive engagement I had with President @ZelenskyyUA and I look forward to hosting him in South Africa soon for a state visit.”

Ramaphosa said the two leaders discussed the urgent need for an inclusive peace process that involves all parties in resolving the conflict and securing peace.

“South Africa remains committed to supporting the dialogue process between Russia and Ukraine.”

Although Ramaphosa didn’t specify the exact date for the visit he said it’ll take place “soon”.

Critics have called Ramaphosa’s efforts too little too late after he’s been accused of being too close to the Kremlin.

Ramaphosa initiated the talks after his government hinted that they’d like to become involved in finding an end to the war between Ukraine and Russia.
